The Plot

The Plot was founded by Jo Riding in 2007, a small business specialising in planting schemes and garden design.

Jo grew up on a self sufficient small-holding and had the privilege to acquire a large helping of knowledge by osmosis from generations of gardeners both male and female.

This knowledge has been ploughed back into her business and home life, having carried on the family tradition of providing home grown fruit and veg produced in the natural and sustainable way for her own family

After a career in agriculture Jo studied garden design and began specialising in planting schemes a few years later. A desire to find the right plants to create beautiful planting schemes led to the development of a small nursery growing perennials, grasses and shrubs, and following that a retail outlet.

Jo’s partner Pete has now joined the business bringing with him a background in Agricultural management and ornithological expertise.

Our collection of personally chosen products all earn their place. They are either functional, in helping grow crops in a sustainable way, beautiful, or just a pleasure to own and use. Our products are geared towards encouraging our wildlife friends and making growing your own food a pleasurable and feasible option. We can offer a wealth of ecologically friendly pest deterrents, proven fruit and vegetable cultivars, and organic plant foods and crop protection.

Our philosophy is purely that the garden should be a beautiful, natural and productive place .
